Channel Islands Women’s Sailing Association (CIWSA) was founded in 

2010 by a small group of women who started sailing together as a team of 

beginning racers on borrowed boats!  We are honored to be sharing our 15th

Anniversary and Opening Day celebration with you!

Community outreach has always been a priority for us.  Through 2024, 

CIWSA has raised more than $17,000 for sailing school scholarships and 

provided grants to more than 25 individual girls and boys and financial 

support to 2 female sailors who competed internationally.

In 2025, we hope to award more sailing scholarships and have scheduled a 

Fundraiser for Youth Sailing at Toppers Pizza. We’re also planning our 4th annual AdventureSail® Day – an experiential introduction to sailing for 9-14 year old underserved girls for Saturday, June 28. 

AdventureSail® Day was established by Doris Colgate of the National Women’s 

Sailing Association more than 20 years ago and dozens of groups hold similar 

events throughout the country each summer.  Our event will include CIWSA and CIYC members, Channel Islands Maritime Museum, the Tall Ship MYSTIC 

WHALER, community volunteers, local skippers and crews who will create a 

multi-faceted day of sailing and adventure for up to young girls and their 

accompanying adults.  We welcome volunteers and donations!
